Background |
Per DCFS Licensing
Standards for Day Care Centers Section
407.210, a health professional is
required to visit facilities caring for
infants and/or toddlers. Purpose of
visits:
• Observe child care techniques
• Provide in-service training
• Visits are advisory and non-regulatory
Frequency of visits:
• At least weekly during permit period
(generally a six month period)
• Once per month thereafter |

Services |
• Instruction and
consultation on health-related policies
• Inservice training to center staff as
requested by director
• On-going evaluation of child care
techniques
• Observation of children for early
identification of
health/developmental problems
• Follow-up referrals for children with
identified health
problems
• Written reports of each visit shall be
shared with
administrative staff
• Assessment of all immunization
records, if desired |

Visits |
• Each required visit
shall be one-hour in length
• Visits will be unannounced and made at
various times
• A written report of each visit shall
be shared with
administrative staff on the day of the visit |

| Fees |
• The fee for each
visit will be $75
(Services contracted for one year period)
• Immunization audit services are
provided at a per hour rate
• Inservices are available for a fee of
$125 |
