Epinephrine
The Kane County Health Department is pleased to provide Kane County schools with resources to implement the Illinois Emergency Epinephrine Act. Anaphylaxis is a severe allergic reaction that is very serious and can be life-threatening. This law permits Illinois schools to keep on hand a supply of potentially life-saving epinephrine auto-injectors, more commonly known as “EpiPens.”
Naloxone/Opioid Antagonist
As of January 1, 2024, public, charter, and nonpublic schools are required to maintain a supply of an opioid antagonist.
