It is a comfortable, non-clinical space that offers an alternative to hospital emergency rooms for those experiencing stressful and anxiety-provoking situations (psychiatric emergencies) so that they can be resolved without more intensive intervention.

Family Guidance Centers provides comprehensive assessment, individual counseling, group counseling, and toxicology services for adolescents with a substance use disorder, aged 13-18. Adolescents typically complete between one and six hours of programming a week, depending on their needs and preferences. Participation in adolescent group is strongly encouraged to facilitate peer group learning and support. Individualized treatment planning addresses issues such as schooling, employment, psychosocial development, family support, readiness to change, and transportation, as appropriate to each individual.
