The Kane County Sheriff's Office special victims unit serves the unincorporated area of Kane County. The special victims unit umbrellas senior services, serious crimes against minors, domestic violence and sexual assault victims. The SVU focuses on investigating crimes, as well as offers social work support for community members in need of services. These services include: mental health support, substance use, juvenile complaints, hoarding, homelessness, veteran assistance, and any case requiring social services.

PSLS envisions a community where all low-income, elderly and vulnerable people have ready access to legal services to meet their basic needs and where everyone knows, understands and can exercise their rights and be treated fairly in their pursuit of justice. Our clients are members of our community. Many face issues from unsafe, unstable, or unaffordable housing and lack of health care to domestic violence, keeping their children in school, and consumer debt harassment. Sometimes, they may have multiple issues at the same time. Our clients are of all ages and ethnicities. Yet, with little or no income amid their crisis, they have no other options for legal representation. Whatever challenges our clients face, our lawyers and advocates can and do make a significant difference in their lives.

Two Rivers Head Start Agency-Community Service Block Grant
Two Rivers Head Start is a Community Action Agency of Kane County. We help low-income families reach self-sufficiency through emergency assistance for families in crisis needing immediate aid, case management, prevention services, and scholarships. Our emergency services can cover: Rental and utility assistance, Vision, Dental, and medication assistance (Mercy pharmacy); Emergency transportation: car repair, bus vouchers. We can provide financial assistance to families for tutoring at the Huntington Tutoring Center. Our organization also promotes the Kindergarten readiness of young children aged 3-5 years for income-eligible families; Two Rivers Head Start is a Federal program that promotes the school readiness of children from birth to age five from low-income families by enhancing their cognitive, social, and emotional development.
