In addition to local information and assistance sites, the Senior HelpLine provides information on programs and services. It links persons 60 and older and their caregivers to local services.
The Kane County Sheriff's Office special victims unit serves the unincorporated area of Kane County. The special victims unit umbrellas senior services, serious crimes against minors, domestic violence and sexual assault victims. The SVU focuses on investigating crimes, as well as offers social work support for community members in need of services. These services include: mental health support, substance use, juvenile complaints, hoarding, homelessness, veteran assistance, and any case requiring social services.
The KCSO also offers the A Way Out program, which provides substance abuse assessment 24/7 to anyone in Kane County that wishes to seek recovery. Appropriate inpatient or outpatient referral and placement are determined by assessment and based on availability. If you are unable to pay for treatment due to a lack of insurance or financial resources, you will not be turned away from participation in the program. Kane County works with providers that are able to accept a number of different insurance plans and accommodate those without insurance.
Application assistance for verterans and their dependents who are applying for various federal, state, and local verterans benefits. These include VA benefits, discharge upgrades, financial assistance and other basic needs.
Meals on Wheels (delivers nutritious and ready-to-eat meals to homebound seniors), Community Dining (provides nutritious meals and the opportunity for seniors to socialize with other seniors), Well-Being Checks (checks on seniors to make sure they are no experiencing any medical/physical/ household issues that could endanger them), (Friendly Phone Calls/Visits (weekly phone calls/visits that allow seniors to socialize), Yard Clean-Ups (removes leaves, trash and/or debris from seniors' homes), Minor Home Repair (provide small home repairs that are usually too minor to call a contractor), Contractor Referrals (prescreens contractors and brings together licensed and insured home repair professionals to assist seniors with their home repair/improvement projects).
Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly offers phone call visits, in-home visits, celebrations of birthdays and holidays, social clubs, vacations and intergenerational activities that help provide companionship and fun to the lives of our elders. All of our services are provided free to our elders.

NAPCA's senior community service employment program provides temporary part-time paid job training experience at local nonprofit and government agencies for mature adults.

We help low-income families reach self-sufficiency through emergency assistance for families in crisis needing immediate aid, case management, prevention services, and scholarships. Our emergency services can cover: Rental and utility assistance, Vision, Dental, and medication assistance (Mercy pharmacy); Emergency transportation: car repair, bus vouchers. We can provide financial assistance to families for tutoring at the Huntington Tutoring Center. Our organization also promotes the Kindergarten readiness of young children aged 3-5 years for income-eligible families; Two Rivers Head Start is a Federal program that promotes the school readiness of children from birth to age five from low-income families by enhancing their cognitive, social, and emotional development. Two Rivers Head Start serves children ages 3-5 year of age.
